Uni (second time lucky)

i'm on the balcony with the radio on and it's raining a tiny bit but that's okay. it isn't cold at all and there's a nice light breeze of fresh air. that big ship docked here early this morning and has been here all day. i think they're waiting for the tide to come back in. it's dark out but not the scary, strange kind of dark. i can hear seagulls and the boat's engine and otis redding on the radio. the street lamps lighting up the docks are quite bright but they do shed a nice feeling of fellowship, knowing i'm not the only person here awake and busy. i can see there are some puddles down at the docks and the light rain makes them look like they're sparking. my gran once told me she'd call them dancing dollies as a child and that's something that has always stuck with me.

i like it here. everything is so calm and i don't feel a single ounce of fear or anxiousness. my room is homely and warm and it feels so nice to be somewhere where i feel so happy. i don't just feel confident about my degree, i also feel more confident talking to people. of course it can still be exhausting but with time i'm going to become more and more comfortable.
